My practice attempts to explore our relationships with both the physical and virtual environments in which we all operate. I am interested in the temporality of objects, and things that are forgotten or overlooked. I spend time with those objects, I transform them, and, in subverting their original function, I hope to create alternative ways of looking at them.

We all live in a mass-produced, throwaway world, our fast-paced and relentlessly changing culture constantly adjusting to new technologies. From passive media such as film and television, we have moved on to a more participatory age in which the taking part, in some cases, can seem to be more important than the message itself. I am fascinated by these changes, the way we jump into them, transforming the way we live our lives.

Paint, pigment, wax, tape, mass-produced pre-fabricated objects, as well as digital media such as video, photography and virtual platforms, all inform and have a place in the production of work. My practice uses research, observation and appropriation/mis-appropriation, and is a constant interaction between my thought processes and production processes. Sometimes there is no physical end result, except for documentation or residual marks remaining from the process itself.

I do not have a medium of predilection, but rather use whatever feels more appropriate at the time. I like the freedom of working in various media and using different techniques. However, repetition, replication and decay, as well as the relationship between object, space and observer, are recurrent motifs that weave each piece together into a coherent and evolving body of work.
